This model comes without several standard amenities; notably, Full Self-Driving (which requires supervision) costs an additional $8,000. Additional options like different paint shades add anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 each, and installing a trailer hitch will set you back another grand. Despite having an Environmental Protection Agency estimated range of 327 miles using the default 19-inch wheels, swapping these out for pricier 20-inch alternatives reduces this figure to around 303 miles—an upgrade costing $2,000.

The revamped Model Y (known internally as Juniper) has been added to Tesla's U.S. customer website. At this time, however, the sole variant you can place an order for is the Launch Series—a restricted-edition model with a starting price of $61,630.

Releasing the Model Y Juniper

As the Launch Series includes a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup along with the Long Range battery pack, more affordable versions of the Model Y will be made available at a future time. Those fortunate enough to secure one of these launch editions will receive an updated version of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) technology alongside a function named “Acceleration Boost.” Additionally, this model boasts distinctive emblems located on parts like the back hatch, side panels, and undercarriage lights, signifying its exclusive status.

Tesla does not provide the power output figures for the Model Y Launch Series; however, the company asserts that electric compact SUV It can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 125 mph. With the standard set of 19-inch wheels, the vehicle has an estimated range of 320 miles according to the EPA; however, selecting larger 20-inch wheels reduces this range to about 303 miles.

Inside, the Model Y Launch Series comes in either an entirely black design or a dual-toned black-and-white look. It features a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, heated and ventilated front seats, along with a separate 8.0-inch screen for backseat occupants.
