MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — Construction work is set to start this coming Friday on Highway 22 between Mankato and St. Peter.
The shutdown marks the beginning of a two-year initiative aimed at rebuilding the thoroughfare. This effort includes incorporating additional turn and pass lanes, erecting a traffic circle at Hill Street within Kasota, replacing bridges, and implementing various enhancements.
Traffic will be rerouted onto Highways 14 and 169.
Construction will run until the end of 2026, but the road will temporarily reopen during the winter.
