A recent press statement reveals that the Idaho State Police are looking into a crash involving a pickup truck and a freight train that occurred approximately at 6:38 p.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of 189 South 1000 East in Lincoln County.
A 74-year-old man from Dietrich was driving northbound on 1000 East in a white 2012 GMC Sierra when the train crashed into the pickup truck, hitting the back right side and rolling over the vehicle.
The motorist from the GMC wasn't using a seat belt. They were airlifted to a nearby hospital via medical helicopter.
The crash is still being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
