A fatal accident occurred involving five cars in Reno early Saturday, resulting in one death and several individuals receiving treatment for different injuries.
Officers from the Nevada Highway Patrol were dispatched to an accident on southbound Interstate 580 near Moana Lane shortly after 7 a.m. on April 12 following reports of a collision involving several vehicles.
Sergeant Chris Brown of the Nevada Highway Patrol stated that two individuals were ejected from their vehicles, another person required extraction from a vehicle, and one individual is receiving treatment for injuries deemed life-threatening.
The southbound lane has restricted flow as vehicles use the shoulder intermittently along with some closings. Additionally, the ramp leading to Moana Lane from the southbound direction is shut down.
